It was a steamy August Saturday morning but nobody was hotter than the duo of John Lewis and Mike Triemstra. Lewis, a LYNX Rookie, picked up the cagy LYNX veteran Triemstra off the waiver wire as a replacement for Rick DeLaat who went on injured reserve only a few days prior to the tournament.
The duo fired a 13 under par tournament round that lapped the next closest team by 8 strokes. In the Shamble formatted Front Nine, Lewis fired a 3 under par 33 only to be outdone by Triemstra's 4 under par, 32. Together they teamed up on the back nine to fire a sizzling 6 under par 30 in a Best-Ball format. They beat defending Champions Kent Wallace-Brian Sawdy and the team of LYNX Member rookies Corey Cohle and Mark Zyzelewski who both carded a 5 under par totals.
The Lewis-Triemstra team will be memorialized on the LYNX Member-Member trophy and the Wall of Fame. Congratulations to all who played in another great event.
