2020 Member-Guest
A beautiful summer day was only surpassed by the excellent and spirited play for the 2020 LYNX Member-Guest Championship. The contest featured many past Member-Guest and LYNX Club Champions as well as many new members. The new Shamble-Scramble format led to balanced scoring throughout each flight and had many teams “in the hunt” until the final holes played.
The four Flight winners included the teams Mike Triemstra-Levi Funk (Bobby Jones), Clayton Seneca-Nathan Barrett (Arnold Palmer), Rob Hoffman-Jeff Hoffman (Jack Nicklaus) and Chad Brice-Doug Dekema (Tiger Woods).
In the end, a short but exciting one-hole sudden death playoff among the flight winners was held and the team of Clayton Seneca-Nathan Barrett prevailed when Clayton buried a 30 foot birdie putt on the 10th hole capturing the overall title of 2020 Member-Guest Champions. Clayton and Nathan will be memorialized with the picture, name plate on the LYNX Wall of Fame and engraved on the Member-Guest trophy in the lobby.

The field showed its true overall competitive balance with 9 teams finishing the flight portion of the event within 2.6 strokes of the best scoring in the event. Many teams had a chance to win. Better luck next year. The day ended Saturday night with Allegan County’s largest cocktail party and the annual Big Cup Chip-off. A fun time was had by all.
